Emmy Martin

Founder

Passionate about golf since picking up a club, Emmy has been immersed in the golf world since she was 12 years old. She was inducted into the Academy of the Holy Names High School Hall of Fame for her outstanding golf record. She earned a full golf scholarship to Texas Christian University (TCU) where she excelled both on the course and in the classroom. She was named First Team All-Big 12 and First Team Academic All-Big 12 and set a TCU record for the lowest single-season scoring average of 72.9. Her success extended beyond collegiate golf into amateur golf, as she won the 62nd Harder Hall Invitational Championship and the 90th Florida Women’s Amateur Championship. Emmy has qualified for three USGA Championships, including two U.S. Amateur Championships and went on to pursue professional golf on the Epson Tour for a couple years. Emmy’s dedication to excellence and her passion for creating opportunities for the next generation are what drive her leadership in this organization.

Beyond the Pink

“My vision behind Played with Heart is everything I imagined golf should be as a little girl. It’s learning the game of golf in a fun and girl-friendly fashion. It’s building a community where girls can learn the game alongside other girls in an empowering environment. It’s one generation leading the next and connecting girls with female-athlete role models. It’s playing with heart- inspiring girls to pour their hearts into whatever they are passionate about and experience the opportunities that are unlocked through hard work. It’s providing engaging and accessible opportunities through the game of golf that will best equip them for their future and empower them to become the best version of themselves.”

My Why

“When I think back to my experience as a student-athlete at Texas Christian University, it just sparkles in my mind. It is during these four years at TCU that God revealed the impact golf has had on my life, allowing me to see golf in a whole new light.

When my dad introduced me to the game of golf at twelve years old, I had no idea of the incredible journey that lay ahead. This sport has shaped my life in so many ways. It has taught me many valuable life lessons, built lifelong relationships, and brought me some of my very best friends. It has taken me to some of the most beautiful places and paid my way to a college education. It has instilled values that have shaped me into the woman I am today and it has served as a platform God has given me to glorify Him. I truly wish that every girl had this same opportunity.”

Behind the Name

Played with Heart was inspired by Colossians 3:23. God has gifted each of us with unique passions and talents, which I believe we are to diligently work at with all our heart. I believe in playing with heart and using the gifts He has given us to bring Him glory.

My hope is that Played with Heart will be an inspiration and reminder to girls that hard work unlocks opportunity!
